Your Catfish Friend

Your Catfish Friend
by
Richard Brautigan

If I were to live my life
in catfish forms
in scaffolds of skin and whiskers
at the bottom of a pond
and you were to come by
one evening
when the moon was shining
down into my dark home
and stand there at the edge
of my affection
and think, "It's beautiful
here by this pond. I wish
somebody loved me,"
I'd love you and be your catfish
friend and drive such lonely
thoughts from your mind
and suddenly you would be
at peace,
and ask yourself, "I wonder
if there are any catfish
in this pond? It seems like
a perfect place for them."

Are There Angels?

It is said there areAngels
In Heaven above
And they shine with the light
Of an inner love
Of these things
I had not a clue
But that was
Before I found you
For in you I’ve found
A love that is so right
It shines all around
With the brightest of light
It comes from somewhere
So deep within
That it has no beginning
And knows no end
Your love is a light
That brightens each day
Of all of the people
You see on your way
Where ever you go
Or whatever you do
All see the love
That you have inside you
That God sent you here
To a place where you’d be
Sharing such love
With someone like me
Is proof for me
That angels exist
And are filled with a love
That no man could resist
I thank God each day
For finding the time
For looking down on me
And making you mine
So yes there are Ange
ls In heaven above
I know because
God Sent me one to love

Wishes your way

Because you're a beautiful person,
I wanted to send something beautiful to you.
Because you always fill my world with laughter and happiness,
I wanted to send something bright to you.
Because our friendship is true,
I wanted to send some pink roses to you.
It's not much,
but I hope this greeting will do.
In my own special way,
I just wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts today,
and I'm sending some good wishes your way.
For Today...
I wanted you to know that
I'm thinking about you today
and hoping the day brings
many wonderful things your way,
a hug, a warm touch,
kind words, a smile,
and all the things that
make life worthwhile.
In My Thoughts.
I had no reason to send you a card,
no great news to reveal.
But I wanted you to know that
you're in my thoughts
and in my heart as well.
And I'm sending you a
wish for a wonderful day.
I hope lots of sunshine comes your way.

Are You Talking To Me?

"Are you talking to me?" she said passing by
"Yes, you ... you ... next to the bald-headed guy,
"I think you're real gorgeous ...that flaming red hair
Is exceedingly beautiful and really quite rare."
I love the way that it curls round your face,
And the way that it seems your ears to embrace,
And the way that it darkens the green of your eyes,
And the way on your cheek that a loose tendril lies.
"She took a deep breath as she paused in her stride,
Her lips slowly parted, her eyes opened wide,
She smiled as she whipped the wig from her head,
"If you like it so much, here, you wear it instead."

Two Poems

Two Poems
Q and A: Do you write about real stuff or do you make it all up?

I would like to say that I invented
how darkness sometimes twists

into light, heats the dust motes till they are a million flares,
fragile chests of fire. I would like to say

that I had no mother
but seemed to know just the same

the cool hand of love to fever, that I've never
spit or hummed or hated. I would like to say that

my brain is a little god churning out creation,
not the addled priest

who wakes up each morning, picks up his wicker basket
to fill with every dirty thing he finds,

who spends his nights hunched over silver polish,
buttons and spoons.

Even now, can't you hear
the clicking bones of my unlit, hissing strokes?

Q and A: Do you have any tips? Answer #1

I suggest a greedy heart, an appetite for hoarding.
Recall the two brothers whose house collapsed under the strain of lifelong collection?

Imagine the second floor creaking laboriously,
like a ship deck, the horn a wheezing lung, before it buckles and gives.
I like to believe they held hands as they had before jumping off

the cement pool's edge wearing handmade trunks which matched,
not only each other's but their kitchen curtains, the love-seat pillow.
(Frugality is a family trait.)

If they'd had enough time, before the house's last heaving breath,
they could have found the pillow, the curtains, each suit,
newspaper-wrapped
as if fragile, in a box marked "summer, 1949," and within the stitches,
their mother's hands.

Who would give that away? You must not only understand the brothers,
their broken, blood-bruised, fatty bodies dug from the rubble,

but the boys they were. Take them in on a given afternoon,
play the neighbor who troubles over their wiry mother, buzzing

the boys' heads
so close with the clippers she leaves nicks that scab,
and collects the fine loose hairs to stuff a pillow.

Invite them in. Let them warm up to the cat.
Set out cookies on napkins which they will wrap,
half-eaten and keep forever. It's tricky.
This keeping.Don't let them see your daughter.

Thinking about you

Thinking about you
Sitting here thinking about you today,
wishing that you weren't so far away.
A frindship that was created all so soon,
is really starting to bud and bloom. ~
You bring a smile to my face each day,
awith the little messages you send my way.
I hope in the years soon to come,
that our frindship will shine like the sun. ~
We share a special kind of love,
blessed by that of the Lord above.
Forever friends we will stay,
never allowing our bond to fray. ~
In my heart you will always stay,
as I cherish our frindship everyday.
Take my hand my dear friend,
and friends we will remain to the end. ~
I will lift you up when your feeling down,
giving you a smile to replace that frown.
Just as I know you would do for me,
without friends where would we be.

Swearing By The Moon (beautiful poem)

Swearing By The Moon

You once swore on the moon,
Promising your undying devotion and love.
I later realized the moon changes every night,
Apparently as do your vows.
I love you dearly as I always did.
I love you, so I'm willing to let you go.
I understand that people change,
That nothing can make you feel what you felt before.
I want you to know I'm not bitter at your words.
I understand your heart's desires, if not more.
The days turn into night, the sun into moon.
I know you loved and cared once and I know you still do.
I want you to be happy,
I want you to live the life you Love,
Love the life you live,
Find a love that makes your heart jump a beat.
Promise me one thing and one thing only -
Never confess your love by the moon,
For it changes every night.
Your heart can be broken
By foolish but once sincere vows.
-- There are many things in ure life that will catch ure eye but only a few will catch ure heart....pursue those

Loved, Lived and Lost

Illusions never change to reality,
Come what may-
Why it has to be always,
The other way.
People silently go into oblivion,
And memories haunt you down.
There are hundreds of reasons to smile.
And one hundred and one to frown.
Waking up every morning-
With a new hope in your eyes.
And with the night, there is a
new prayer and lot more sighs.
Everyday, I begin a new journey.
Reviving from the ashes of the past,
I learnt no one lives for you,
No one understands and no one lasts.
I loved to live, I loved to give.
I lived to love, I lived to forgive.
Loves deprives you of sanity.
True love is sheer luck or serendipity.
You ask something from life,
And life takes double in return.
I kneeled, I begged to Thou.
But the stone hearted never endowed.
Empty days, Eremitic nights,
Endless pain- Is only what it cost.
I would move on and be good,
So what if I loved lived and lost.

I want to end this poem.................

I want to end this poem.................

I shake the thoughts of you

out of my mind

I don't know what's happening

Was this love so blind?

Why do I still dream of you?

Why do I still wish you were here?

Why do I still long to see you?

Why do I wish you were near?

I'm infatuated with you

But I want that feeling to end

I know you don't feel the same

I just want my heart to mend

I hide all these feelings from you

keep them locked up inside

I ask my friends for their help

At least I have in them to confide

I think I'm succeeding

I think this feeling is dying

I think this is working

I think my heart is crying

At least I had the guts to say

how I felt about you

I wished that you felt the same

that you cared for me too.

I guess all I can do now

is just let go

Maybe this feeling isn't real

But I'll just let things flow

I thought you felt the same

I was so naive

I actually thought you cared

That's what I can't believe

I don't know what to do

I don't want to think of you

My heart is empty right now

I just want to make it through

I don't care, I don't feel

With your life, just get goin'

Just forget about me,

So I can end this poem...

From Prince( A poem in Lost Love)

My Tears
By Prince

Let my tears flow like the river
And Let my heart ache
I will write an elegy of suffering
I am lost and broken lover.

Let the heart break
Let my ribs break into parts
Who cares, let my body grow numb
And Let me lie among the deads.

Let the storm blow
Let the sea waves wash me away
Let the eagle pick my eyes
And let the hyenas tears me apart
What is life without you?

Let me be graved into the bog
Where my bones and flesh will rot
Let my veins never carry blood
And Let my eyes be plucked up
I don’t want to live this life.

Woe, Woe to me
That I love
Woe to me that I gave my heart
Woe to me that I am born
And I am down and broken?

Oh love! Precious love!
Don’t mock at my downfall
Enjoy and Enjoy clap your hands
For you know not my body and mind groans
For the lost love,

Be in peace, be in love
Let me be reject and lost
Never will I come to your door
With my begging bowl
Be in peace my loveThough I suffer in this painful sore.

UNBELIEVABLE .....................

It was unbelievable how we met.
Knowing each other's every thought
And, stop to think,
We never really understood.
Shooting stars sweep forgotten
Lost like tears of my desire.
My heart is on fire
All because you swept me away
Into a world remarkable.
My love for you is unbelievable.
The rain pours down
The clouds race above us
I smile and we don't care
We sit alone
Side by side, together.
And as we dream- the world swims past

When first I looked into your eyes..

When first I looked into your eyes..
each breath became a thousand sighs...
My heart drummed out a thunder beat..
I glowed with joy from head to feet..
The hand of love had touched my soul..
as the bell of destiny began to toll..
The tide of love began to rise..
the world was filled with summer skies..
My sodden clouds of cold and grey..
glowed with gold, then wisped away..
A brilliant rainbow arched across..
as waves of love began to toss..
The air was filled with lovebird cries..
when I first looked into your eyes..
When I first looked into your eyes..
all time and space were paralyzed..
And in that instant, I was shown..
a universe I had never known..
I dwell there still, in Paradise..
when I look into your eyes..

BUDGET POEM

BUDGET POEM

The single largest financial event in our country is the Union Budget,
Which is the ruling party's and finance minister's mighty Gadget;

Fate of industries, business and various sectors depend on levels of Taxation,
Which, when imposed, deprive the common man time for any Relaxation;

Various taxes coming in layers, to be paid in complexity of Forms,
Are slowly and steadily getting established as permanent Norms;

Multiple levies and formation of tax brackets surely cause a lot of Mess,
To add to our woes, these are supplemented by addition of Education Cess!

Our country's overall budgetary Fiscal deficit stands at 3.7% of GDP,
A rate which has to be reduced further to avoid shooting up of FM's BP!

Thrust is always on rural sectors, farming and Information Technology,
For, these are areas where Govt. can easily play no investor's Psychology;

FM comes hard on commodities, cement and Steel,
Making them believe that they always get a raw Deal;

However best the FM tries to curb Inflation,
He cannot control the trends of price Escalation!

Excise and Custom duties are lowered with an art of Jugglery,
Leaving good room for exporters and importers to resort to Burglary!

Despite all the wailing, industries, politicians and businesses continue to Flourish,
Leaving the innocent tax-payer and my dearest common man's savings to Perish;

Wake up dear friends, and voice your concerns and valued Opinion,
Do it all alone, if you have to, even without waiting for any Companion.

A Friend

It's nice to have a friend like you
With whom my heart can share
Its little hopes and fondest dreams
Because you really care.

It's good to know I need but call
In case my foot should slip,
You're like a lighthouse in the fog
That guides my little ship.

It's nice to have a friend like you
Within this "vale of tears,"
Someone who never changes
However long the years.

Who sees beyond the features,
And all the outward show,
And needs no words to read the thoughts
That only friends can know.

It's nice to have a friend like you,
Forever and a day,
Who through the good times and the bad,
Will never go away.

No matter what the future holds,
Whatever life may send,
I'll always know I have been blessed;
...Because you are my friend.

Sometimes A Happening....

Sometimes A Happening....

Sometimes a happening...
A thing A way....
Strikes a pose...
In our minds each day...

We sense a feeling...
deep inside....
That when we recall...
makes us 'sigh'...

A person we see...
Such smartness to behold...
A glance a quickening...
Don't have to be told...

Sometimes you won't forget...
A personage on high...
A sonnet a place...
A time perhaps pie...

But Unforgettable...
The first time you kiss...
All you felt was...
Bliss...

A moment of forever...
Caught in time....
Such is the feeling...
I get sometime....

Climb every mountain, Ford every stream.
Follow every rainbow 'til you find your dream,
A dream that will need all the love you can give,
Every day of your life for as long as you live.

My Vow To You

My Vow To You

When you are sad, I will dry your tears

When you are scared, I will comfort your fears

When you need love, my heart I will share

When you are sick, for you I will care

You will feel my love when we are apart

Knowing that nothing will change my heart

When you are worried, I will give you hope

When you are confused, I will help you cope

When you are lost, and can’t see the light

My love will be a beacon, shining ever so bright

This is my vow, one that I pledge till the end

For you above all are my wife and best friend

These words I have written, speak of my love for you

From my lips these words spoken, shall always ring true

God has blessed me, and with your hand in mine

Both of our hearts, will forever intertwine

Into all lives, falls pain and sorrows,

I promise together, we will meet all tomorrows

Happy in marriage, honor and love

blessed in unity by God above

A Table Set For Two

A Table Set For Two

Candles flicker softly on a table set for two,There's no one on the earth tonight except for me and you.

A nice romantic dinner and a bottle of chilled wine,And we are here together in a moment stopped in time.

A love so few have ever known and this is its birth night,Alone within our little world, you and I and candlelight.

So soon we will set free the feelings that we want to share. And I am held here spellbound by your laughter in the air.

Thoughts of love like falling leaves,Swirling in the autumn breeze,

Flow in our minds and in our eyes,A tender look and longing sighs,

We touch and as the fire starts,That we have kindled in our hearts,

We kiss and hear the angels sing,As heavens gift to me you bring,

No more to live my life alone,And in your soul I found my home,

At peace within your loving arms,Captivated by your charms,

And happily I'd die for you,Here at this table set for two.

I Am Only Me

I Am Only Me

I am only me, that is all that I can be
No more, no less, don't second guess
I love, I laugh, I live and cry,
I've wished at times, that I could die
Some days I'm funny, others I'm not,
sometimes I'm in overdrive and can't stop
I am a loyal and honest friend,
You know that I'll be there until the end
I am a father/mother, my children my greatest gift,
The smiles on their faces always give me a lift
I am a romantic, sensual, and passionate too,
to the love of my life, I'll share this with you
I can be sweet and shy or sassy and bold,
I'm quite a handful, or so I've been told
I am not perfect, I do have my faults,
like when I get scared I put up high walls
Or I'm not as forgiving, as I'd sometimes like to be,
because when I hurt, I hurt deeply
My logic is all my own, at times misunderstood,
because I don't always do things for my own good
I have many facets, like a diamond you see...
I am only me.

Hoppity

christopher_ robin goes

Hoppity, Hoppity,

Hoppity, Hoppity, Hop

Whenever i tell him

Politely to stop it, he

Say's he can't possibly stop.

If he stopped hopping, he couldn't go anywhere,

Poor little Christopher

Couldn't go anywhere...

That's why he always goes

Hoppity, Hoppity,

Hoppity,

Hoppity,

Hop.

Furry Bear

If I were a bear,

And a big bear too,

I shouldn?t much care If it froze or snew;

I shouldn?t much mind If it snowed or friz ?

I?d be all fur-lined With a coat like his!For I?

d have fur boots and a brown fur wrap,

And brown fur knickers and a big fur cap.

I?d have a fur muffle-ruff to cover my jaws,

And brown fur mittens on my big brown paws.

With a big brown furry-down up to my head,

I?d sleep all the winter in a big fur bed.

Lines and Squares

Whenever I walk in a London street,

I'm ever so careful to watch my feet;

And I keep in the squares,

And the masses of bears,

Who wait at the corners all ready to eat

This sillies who tread on the lines of the street,

Go back to their lairs,

And I say to them,

"Bears, Just look how I'm walking in all the squares!"

And the little bears growl to each other,

"He's mine, As soon as he's silly and steps on a line."

And some of the bigger bears try to pretend

That they came round the corner to look for a friend;

And they try pretend that nobody cares

Whether you walk on the lines or squares.

But only the sillies believe their talk;

It's ever so portant how you walk.

And it's ever so jolly to call out,

"Bears, Just watch me walking in all the squares!"

Portrait of a Friend

Portrait of a Friend

I can't give solutions to all of

life's problems, doubts, or fears.

But I can listen to you and

together we will search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,

nor the future with it's untold stories.

But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep yourfeet from stumbling.

I can only offer my hand

that you may grasp it

and not fall.

Your joys, triumps, success,

and happiness are not mine;

Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;

I can only support you, encourage you,

and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from

falling away from friendship,

from your values, from me.

I can only pray for you,

talk to you, and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,

But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,

room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,

But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces

and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are.

I can only love you and be your friend.

WILL YOU BELIEVE ME?

There's so many mistakes I've done
That let opportunities to be gone
Just like letting go of a man
Who came into my life once

I know I promise that I'll be true
To the love that we shared in two
But one mistake I've done to you
I said goodbye and made you blue

I want to change my life for good
And now I feel I'm on the right move
To tell you now if your in mood
All the things that made me confuse

Will you believe me when I say I care?
I am concern to you, I swear
Will you trust me and believe again
That I still love you so, will you dare?

As He Sees

As He Sees

If I could give you
Just one thing
It would be the ability
To see yourself
As Jesus sees

Not to have to accept
The opinions of others
Not to be conformed
To the standards
Of this world

But to have
The strength to stand
Knowing the purpose
For you
That has been planned

With the knowledge
That you are truly unique
Given the abilities
To achieve
What He has foreseen

And those times
When you feel alone
His faith in you
Will guide you home

So I hope one day
You will see
Through His eyesAnd discover what your life
Truly means

For richesCan come and go
But there is no price
That can be paid
For the peace
That comes
From Him alone

One WaylOVE

One WaylOVE

A one way love can never thrive;
It needs reciprocation.
And so, in order to survive
My love needs affrmation.

So throw your caution to the sky,
And let your heart command.
You'll find that it will not deny
A love which must expand.

Come now, to me with your love in my heart
And sweep away all my sorrow ,
To love me and feel my sadness ,
Love me in ur heart and make my love complete.

RETURN TO ME...........................

RETURN TO ME...........................

The minutes pass like hours,
each day seems like a year.
This is how time goes by,
whenever you're not here.

My days are always gloomy,
the nights I lay awake.
For this type of suffering,
there is no drug that I can take.

But, as soon as you return to me,
there are no clouds in the sky so wide.
I guess this is the special effect,
of you here by my side.

Now the flowers are blooming,
and I think I like it this way.
So, help keep nature beautiful
Please Darling, don't ever go away...

Life is like a song

Life is like a song

Life is like a song

Waiting to be sung.

Will it be played softly

Or like the beating of a drum?

The lyrics are being

Recorded each and every day

In all that we do

And in all that we say.

If we choose to follow God and

Abstain from the devil and his ways

Our song will have a beautiful melody

One of purity and praise.

Now go ahead and write your glorious

Song as you live for Christ each day

For great will be your reward and

In heaven you'll forever stay.

Have U ever Really loved a Woman?

Have U ever Really loved a Woman?

To really love a woman, to understand her
You gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought, see every dream
And give her wings when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
'cause she needs somebody to tell her, that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really, really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman, let her hold you
Till you know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her, really taste her
Till you can feel her in your blood
And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
'cause she needs somebody to tell her, that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really, really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith, hold her tight
A little tenderness, gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
You really gotta love your woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
'cause she needs somebody to tell her, that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really, really really ever loved a woman?

Tell me have you ever really, really really ever loved a woman?
So tell me have you ever really, really
really ever loved a woman?

Poem Of Love Accounting

Poem Of Love Accounting
In the journal paper of my heart,
I have written a journal entry.
Debiting your love and your affection.
Darling you write the narration,
Your first love, I had already adjusted
On the ledger-folio column,
Any way our relations are true assets
On double-entry system
In addition, our love is true real and tangible
You debit-what comes in,
I credit-what goes out.
Your beauty is the capital of business.
My eyes are stock in trade.
Let us enter into transaction,
You secretly give me a trade discount,
I openly give you a cash discount
And thus my partner,
Our trading and profit-loss account will show super profit
My dear let us re-concile,
all our errors and total the trial balance of our affairs
arithmetically without maintaining any suspense account.
In the balance sheet of our life
Our children will be our true assets and liabilities
If they are boys, they will be our sundry debtors
If they are girls, they will be our sundry creditors
But if we have a boy and a girl,
Our balance sheet will tally automatically.

Make up your mind

“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
When you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but do not you quit,
Life is queer, with its twist and turns
As everyone of us, sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When you might have won, if you had struck it out
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow.
You might succeed with another blow,
